CHAPTER TWO
NIGHT ONE
Chapter Two kicked off with a recap of the previous event, most notably the title wins for Lily Blaise and Evie Locke, before a run down of the forthcoming cards.
INTERNET TITLE LADDER MATCH
Evie Locke (c) v Corsen Howell v CADENCE v YOKAI v Victoria Ann Gable
With all five wrestlers in the ring Evie’s belt was hoisted into the air above them as the crowd began to cheer ahead of this opening match up. Locke secured the final pin in the inaugural Internet Title Scramble match last time out and looked more than ready to try and retain her championship in these trying circumstances. Cadence was also involved that night though, and came within an inch of winning herself. Could she go one further this time out? Corsen Howell was making waves over in the NAWLs sister fed, Five Lakes Wrestling, and after narrowly missing out on gold there recently was eager to redeem herself in this match up. The young YOKAI stood calm against the ropes in the corner of the ring, quietly surveying her opponents, while Gable strutted around the place ensuring the crowd and her opponents got a good look at her. Once things got underway it was every woman for herself as they took no sides or displeasure in laying into one another. The ladders were out almost immediately as YOKAI went for a pragmatic approach in trying to climb her way up as quick and often as possible. Corsen came the closest in the early stages, brushing the strap with her hands before being sent tumbling to the outside after a push from Evie. Locke knew she would have to fend people off long enough to get a real opportunity and set about fighting them off one at a time. Meanwhile Gable had other ideas and bided her time before attacking the next person, (Cadence) to ascend the ladder, before making her own pursuit of the strap. With one hand on the belt she looked sure to become champ but YOKAI was on hand to deny in the nick of time. Cadence was back on her feet now and after a back and forth with YOKAI slowly began making her way to the top. She reached the summit and started to unhook the belt just as she began the ladder began to shake. Evie was climbing on the other side. A brawl started out at the top of the ladder as it shook furiously. Corsen was back in action now and made her way towards the action. Cadence was sent flying after a right hook from Evie as Corsen pushed the ladder out the way. Evie had two hands on the belt and clung on instead of going side-wards with the ladder. Dangling above the ring Corsen tried reaching up to pull her down but Evie was just out of reach. She freed up her hand and unhooked the belt, tumbling to the canvas in doing so. She wearily pulled herself to her feet, clutching her back in pain after the fall, before raising the belt in the air in jubilation.
Winner: Evie Locke (Still Internet Champion)
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Patti Rose v Enigma
Rose and Enigma entered the ring for this first bout in the League of Legends tournament. The belt was paraded in front of them to kick things off and they didn’t let us down with a thrilling back and forth. Enigma, real name Sev Vladislav, was significantly bigger than Rose and used his size and power to ensure he was quick out the blocks. Patti offered a brief reprisal and had the crowd on their feet with a Lou Thesz Press but Enigma soon had control again and finished this one off with a Face Eraser (Wheelbarrow Facebuster)
Winner: Enigma
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Nigel Phillips v Andrew Raynes
Nigel Phillips, aka The Journeyman, puffed his chest out and stared down his rival in Andrew Raynes en route to the ring as the two came face to face, trading insults the second they locked eyes. An all out brawl ensued before breaking out into something of a technical masterclass for what felt like an eternity. With the clock winding down it looked certain this would end in a draw until Raynes locked on his Caught in the Rayne in the centre of the ring. Phillips cried out but couldn’t reach the ropes. He glanced up at the clock, there was still a minute left, and he held out for another thirty seconds before conceding defeat. Raynes pulled himself to his feet and exited the ring with a very satisfied look on his face.
Winner: Andrew Raynes
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Jan Van Der Roost v Shawn Clarke
Legendary grappler Van Der Roost was greeted with a huge reception as he entered the arena. Shawn Clarke was also given the respect of both the crowd and his esteemed opponent as they locked up for this second Group B bout. JVDR, the older of these two veterans, was giving up a bit in speed and agility here, something he was more than accustomed to, as the Dutch technician knew instinctively how to utilise his strengths, and minimise any exposure to his weaknesses. Clarke had a slow start, surprised at how versatile the Rooster could be between the ropes, but weathered that early storm to steal the advantage and see this one through with an Overnight Sensation (Backflip Exploder Suplex) for the points.
Winner: Shawn Clarke
HEADLINER
PURE TITLE MATCH
Lily Blaise (c) v Owen Gonsalves
A maiden defence for Blaise as she comes face to face with the Submission Alchemist in Owen Gonsalves. Lily came through a 16 wrestler tournament to secure this title, and as expected the high profile grapplers would immediately come calling to challenge for this accolade. Despite overcoming a few household names en route to that victory she looked all out of sorts in the early exchanges, as the Australian seamlessly put her through her paces. Gonsalves, who wasn't involved in the Pure Grand Prix, was arguably making a mockery of the entire field with his dominance in the opening five, but Lily slowly began to work her way back after using up two rope breaks. Owen though remained on top by and large, but after Lily kicked out of a few pinfalls he looked visibly disappointed when she wouldn't stay down. He switched things up to a differing style, staying on top, but a huge reversal from Blaise turned things on its head. It was back and forth now, neither competitor staying in control for very long before the other found an intelligent way to overturn things. Owen once again switched things up and went for an aerial move but before he could execute it Lily pounced, before following up with a Top Rope Leaping Poisonrana she calls Ode to Hope to retain her belt in impressive fashion.
Winner: Lily Blaise (Still Pure Champion)
Both wrestlers were applauded as they got to their feet, as Owen humbly raised the hand of the champion before a brief highlight reel was aired of Mark Cross and Myra Rivers ahead of tonight's Main Event.

MAIN EVENT
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Myra Rivers v Mark Cross
The two most vocal of the Legends thus far needed no introduction as they came out to the ring. Coming face to face Cross started with the mind games, trash talking the smaller, composed Myra, but it was Rivers who got the first punch in as a violent back and forth ensued. Whilst both of these wrestlers were arguably still in their prime, and with multiple accolades between them there was high expectation of a thrilling encounter. Cross used his size to his advantage, but struggled to match Myra on the ground at times, as it jumped back and forth, to and fro, practically minute by minute. However, with the clock winding down this looked certain for a draw until Cross landed a Shining Wizard from nowhere that there was no coming back from. Cross pulled himself to his feet and celebrated, relieved yet delighted at this hard fought win, as the opening night came to a close.
Winner: Mark Cross
