LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Enigma v Mark Cross
Both of these got off to winning ways last time out, and a win here would all but guarantee their place in the semi finals. Enigma proved to be a handful once more with his size and strength but Cross managed him well, sealing the win with another Shining Wizard.
Winner: Mark Cross
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Patti Rose v Myra Rivers
Myra’s close encounter with Cross at Night One was a worthy Main Event, but that was no consolation for the Five Lakes Wrestling Undisputed Tag Team champion, who has made it abundantly clear she’s here to win the entire tournament, and not just make up the numbers. She put that setback behind her and despite some difficulty early on navigating Patti’s old school style she came through with a River Driver (Spanish Fly) to secure her first points.
Winner: Myra Rivers
BACKSTAGE
Andrew Raynes was on hand for an interview before his match. Shawn Clarke was going to be a difficult opponent, but he was going to do whatever he needed to do over the next two matches to make it through to the finals. With one win under his belt he was in a strong position to get beyond the group, and assured everyone he was going deep into this competition.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Shawn Clarke v Andrew Raynes
Once again we see two of the winners from Night One up against each other as Raynes and Clarke showed little emotion once inside the ring. Clarke, the flashier of the two, tried getting under the skin of Raynes, but The Toughest Out kept his cool. Clarke narrowly escaped Raynes signature Caught in the Rayne, while Andrew somehow kicked out from an Overnight Sensation (Backflip Exploder Suplex) as this fight went to a time limit draw for a point a piece.
Winner: Draw
BACKSTAGE
Myra Rivers was on hand for a post-match interview. She said it felt good to put the defeat behind her from the opening night. A lot of time had passed since then and it had given her time to reflect on what went well, and what didn’t go well that night. There was a lot of pressure on this match tonight as a defeat would have meant she was basically out of the tournament altogether. The job wasn’t done though, she needed to win her final match against Enigma and that wasn’t going to be easy.
HEADLINER
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Jan Van Der Roost v Nigel Phillips
Two well known veterans now that have long wanted to step into the ring with one another again. There was a rare acknowledgement of respect from Phillips as the two men greeted in the ring centre of the ring before locking up. These two had over sixty years of experience between them and as expected took great pleasure trying to out-wit the other. Unsurprisingly the two Europeans were an even match, twisting and over-turning a plethora of holds throughout. Both men used the ropes on more than one occasion for safety but with the clock ticking away the Rooster pulled out The Crow (Double Arm DDT) from nowhere to secure an all important win.
Winner: Jan Van Der Roost
MAIN EVENT
INTERNET TITLE BATTLE ROYAL
Evie Locke (c) v Kanaka Mauna v Flynn Howell v Calder Rhys v Ryan Samuels
Evie Locke retained her Internet Title at Night One in a thrilling Ladder match, but was giving up several pounds here to some of her opponents in this over the rope rumble. Enemies Mauna and Samuels were eager to get stuck into one another while Rhys quietly surveyed the opposition on the side. The vociferous Flynn, something of an ally to the Hawaiian Giant, was confident as ever, as this Main Event got underway. Immediately the two allies sought to eliminate the imposing Samuels but the Midwest Nightmare held on impressively. After unsuccessfully disposing of Evie he was joined by Rhys in a two on two brawl that saw Flynn knocked onto the outside, albeit through the ropes and not for elimination. With it two on one now they double teamed the big Mauna and he was swiftly sent packing. KANAKA MAUNA IS ELIMINATED! Flynn sheepishly re-entered, visibly perturbed that his partner in crime was no longer there to aid him as Rhys and Samuels locked up. Evie was back on her feet now and started beating away at Flynn. She tossed him over the ropes but he somehow held on and pulled himself back to creep through and catch her by surprise from behind, as she went to tumbling to the outside. We’re going to have a new champion! EVIE LOCKE IS ELIMINATED! Samuels now had Rhys inches away from demise as he heaved to get ‘The Technical Tarantula’ out of this match but Flynn saved his blushes by attacking the Midwest Nightmare. The two men battled back and forth with Samuels coming on top until Kanaka Mauna re-entered the ring illegally and launched his own attack on his rival. He whipped him onto the ropes and followed up with a huge clothesline but Samuels ducked. Little did either of them know but Flynn Howell was pulling himself to his feet behind and with the big man unable to avoid him was sent flying over the ropes and onto the outside. FLYNN HOWELL IS ELIMINATED! Samuels sent Mauna packing with a huge Lariat but it was to his detriment as Calder Rhys seized the moment and eliminated him quickly after by tossing him up and over to claim the belt. RYAN SAMUELS IS ELIMINATED!
Winner: Calder Rhys (New Internet Champion)
Calder raised the belt in the air as his fallen opponents looked on with envy. Flynn and Mauna were arguing on the outside, almost coming to blows as Samuels exited cursing the Hawaiian’s name. Evie shrugged and pointed at Rhys with a smile. She would be back for more in the NAWL, that we could be sure of. Rhys thrusted the belt I got he air once more, as the night came to a close.
