LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
PORTLAND, OR
CHAPTER TWO
NIGHT THREE
INTERNET TITLE 30 MINUTE IRON MAN MATCH
Calder Rhys (c) v Ichabod Thrasher v Trese v inVader
All four competitors met in the ring as Rhys’ title was paraded before them. It didn’t take long for the first pinfall as Trese hit the Rapture (Flying Head Stomp) on the reigning champion for an early lead. Minutes later Thrasher got one on the board after catching Trese cold, with a Mass Relay (Brazilian/Question Mark Kick). inVader started the match in a calculated manner, stalking her opponents one by one, but each time she looked to secure a pin someone was on hand to break it up. Reigning champion Calder Rhys picked up a point with a Triangle Choke on Thrasher. By now everyone had a point bar inVader, who herself had impressively managed not to be pinned/submitted herself up to this point. Rhys took the lead with a Hidden Blade, this time on Trese but Thrasher replied with a Mass Relay on Calder. Invader was taken out of the equation for several minutes after a double team from Thrasher and Trese as the three men battled round and round in circles for the best part of ten minutes. At the five minute remaining mark each wrestler looked visibly fatigued, as Trese pounced on a weary Calder for a Step Into The Void (Running Razor’s Edge into the corner). Invader then appeared from nowhere to hit him with a Black
Hole Slam, finally securing a point. There was limited time left and the odds were against her, with the scores at 2-2-2-1. As the clock ticked down she almost landed another with the Stellar Spike on Rhys but he kicked out at the last second. Trese then saw an opportunity but she dodged his advances and replied with another Stellar Spike. The scores were tied. Thrasher was climbing to his feet, just ahead of Trese and Rhys. He looked up the clock and made a b-line for inVader. Rhys got the edge of Trese and locked on the Traingle Choke, as Thrasher secured the Emmure (Arm Trap Cut Throat Crossface) on inVader. There were seconds left as they both held on hoping one would tap before the buzzer. inVader put out her arm and went to tap but clenched her fist and held on while Trese couldn't take it any more. Calder Rhys had a third point with two seconds to spare, as inVader frantically pounded the mat moments after but it was all too late for the Young Legend in Thrasher.
Winner: Calder Rhys (Retains the Internet Title)
Final scores:
Calder Rhys - 3
Ichabod Thrasher, inVader & Trese - 2 each

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Nigel Phillips v Shawn Clarke
After two disappointing performances and letting personal vendettas get the better of him, Nigel Phillips was desperate not to end this series without a win. After he came flying out the traps he looked every bit the international star he was once famous for. But Clarke was an astute wrestler, and needed only a draw to guarantee his spot in the next round. Winding the clock down he began to infuriate the British veteran, eventually managing to capitalise on a desperation move to steal the win with minutes to spare.
Winner: Shawn Clarke (qualifies for the Semi-Finals)
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Mark Cross v Patti Rose
With Mark Cross already through to the semi finals, and Patti already eliminated you would be forgiven for thinking this might be a dull affair, but it was anything but as Patti looked to finish on a high, and Cross dead set on sending a message to his would be rivals in the final round. A high energy, chaotic bout was eventually won though by Cross with a Shining Wizard following a mistake from the Texan. The Dragon celebrated, guaranteeing himself as the only person to win all three group matches, ahead of the Semi-Fjnals. Make no mistake, this was the man to beat.
Winner: Mark Cross (wins the Group)
IN THE RING
Cross took to the mic after his win and paid respect to Patti, before explaining that tonight was about laying down a marker. He said he wouldn’t be hanging around to find out who his next opponent was. He’s already proven he is the best in this competition and only he can stop himself now from winning this championship.
PRE-MATCH
NAWL owner Frank James came out before the next match with a mic. With Mark Cross having already won the group, and Patti Rose already eliminated it meant that whoever won this match would go through to the next round. We needed a winner so there could be no draw. Therefore the ten minute limit would be scrapped. Whats more, this would be a no disqualification match to boot. Myra’s eyes narrowed but she showed no emotion, respecting the decision. Enigma nodded slowly, presumably smiling behind his mask.
HEADLINER
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP A
Enigma v Myra Rivers
Enigma was far too powerful for Myra in the early exchanges and wasted no time bringing weapons into the equation, as Myra’s back and legs took a beating from a steel chair. He set up a table and attempted an ambitious aerial move but she rolled out the way and wearily began to work her way in the match. Enigma again used his size and strength to overpower her but she held on and eventually reversed a Face Eraser to land a Spirit Breaker (Corkscrew Neckbreaker). He kicked out first time around but couldn’t withstand a second moments later as Myra fell backwards against the turnbuckle in exhaustion and relief. She was through the semis! After defeat in the opening Main Event against Mark Cross, she was two wins from two and progressing to the Semi-Finals.
Winner: Myra Rivers (qualifies for the next round)
MAIN EVENT
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
GROUP B
Andrew Raynes v Jan Van Der Roost
Time now for the Main Event and the final Group match of the League of Legends Series. Raynes had one win and one draw to his name, meaning he was one point ahead of Van Der Roost, with his one win and one defeat. JVDR needed a win. End of. Raynes, however, just needed to avoid defeat. He took the fight to the Dutchman at first but it was all a ploy to get him into a position where he could latch on various holds and slow the match down. He was playing for a time limit draw and who could blame him. JVDR knew what was going on and didn’t complain. This was the game and he had expected it pan out this way. The crowd jeered at first before getting behind the Rooster. He tried playing Raynes at his own game, reversing the holds and submissions into his own looking for a way to win but Raynes was clever, and found a way out by hook or crook on every occasion. Rooster ensured after a while that they both stay on their feet and slowly started turning it into more of a brawl. Raynes, against his game plan, couldn't resists and the two went at it momentarily, with Raynes even kicking out of JVDR's Superkick, but it didn’t last. The Toughest Out wouldn’t make the same mistake again and he grinded it out, winding down the final minutes and seconds for a tough, much needed draw. Both men were on their feet and Raynes extended his hand after the bell. A man of few emotions, he knew what he was up against when to show respect. Rooster was magnanimous in defeat, raising Raynes’ arm and demanding the crowd applaud the overall victor for qualifying from the group, before taking in the applause himself as Raynes left the ring and the night came to a close.
Winner: Draw (Andrew Raynes qualifies for the next round)
